Head of Marketing

VALR is looking for a strategic, hands-on marketing leader to head up our marketing team to help us create a strong brand identity. You will be part of a highly talented team, working to elevate the brand through building VALR’s go-to-market plan and marketing function. You will be in charge of crafting our product and marketing voices to fit the global market and to differentiate VALR amongst competitors.

What would you be doing?

  • Lead VALR’s marketing strategy, partnering closely with both business leadership and product teams
  • Be the voice of the customer and a specialist on users to drive growth and inform our product roadmap
  • Experience localizing GTM product messaging, brand differentiation, marketing content, and external communications
  • Execute multiple aspects of marketing, including branding and positioning, product marketing, paid marketing, education and engagement campaigns, events and communication
  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, brand, communications to fuel ongoing product adoption, product launches, and product localization efforts across multiple markets
  • Measure and report progress against marketing goals, gain customer insight and iterate on outstanding GTM strategy for established and new markets
  • Stay up-to-date on competitive landscape and market trends while continuing to innovate storytelling and brand identity

What we look for in you

  • 8+ years of industry experience, with at least 4 years of B2C brand marketing experience
  • Proven experience building a strong brand identity in the B2C/Crypto/Tech/E-commerce space
  • A passionate, quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • A demonstrated track record of leadership, both working cross-functionally with internal partners and managing your own team
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • A start-up mentality - not afraid to test out new ideas, roll up your sleeves to get stuff done
  • Experience developing strategy, working with agencies and partner networks to execute campaigns across various channels
  • Clearly articulate the essence of products and the value they create; you can develop strategic positioning, a strong messaging hierarchy, and effective content strategy plan; you can also play copywriter
  • Execution focused with a bias toward action, a great collaborator and master disambiguator/simplifier; you never stop pushing towards clarity and delivery

  • Experience working in crypto companies and designing alternative financial systems
  • Experience working remotely in an early stage startup environment
  • Worked at a consumer financial technology company
